I wonder if you can give some advice? The story so far bought an Epad just before last christmas for£169.99 from what I thought, a reputal photography studio selling them online. I paid for this using my visa debit card, in Feb this year the epad started to not work as it should so I emailed the company as to what they suggest, got no reply, gradually the fault got worse to the extent that from about April/May it is completley unuseable. I have phoned numerous times and got answer machine, I leave message and my mobile number, I have sent numerous emails from varying email accounts I have, I have even spoken to a member of staff and was told the person I needed was out on a photo shoot. To date I have had no response whatsoever from this company. I would go to the shop but they are about 200 miles away. Surley I should be entitled to a replacement or my money back.
Please what do I do????

if you have a physical address for the company then submit an LBA (Letter Before Action - templates available in stickys at top of this forum) - they need to repair, replace or refund you, although this may require you to get an engineers report to prove the fault existed when sent.
I would go down the LBA route given the seller knows you have a problem but is ignoring all contact...0 -
What does their returns policy state?
What does your bank offer in terms of protection on your debit card? Some would do chargebacks etc if there are issues as if it were a credit card others dont.
If you have the protection from your bank then return it by special delivery with evidence of all your past communications and request a full refund within 14 days.0 -
return it special delivery before getting them to accept it?
Dangerous - LBA would be more advisable as this doesn't require the goods to be sent first - the goods are the only collateral the complainant has.0 -
As I said, the returning was subject to your bank confirming you had cover from them0

How about phoning the manufacturer?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Thank you I have sent a lba registered post so I will await any reply although I doubt I will get one. Will keep you posted0

My original post seems to have dissappeared, the jist is bought epad via internet at christmas 2010 from reputable photographers, faulty after few weeks, contacted shop via phone emails etc they have not responded at all. Sent them LBA recorded delivery and they have not responded to that either. The studio is over 200 miles away from me otherwise I would go and give em a piece of my mind.
My question is what now, I have a £170 epad stuck in a box thats useless :mad:0 -

You now need to follow that with court action.
Read the thread entitled READ ME FIRST PLEASE . . . Useful links, Resources and FAQs for information on how to do that.0 -
