Hi
I have problem with my peugeot 607hdi, I booked into Toomey peugoet in basildon after engine management light came on dashboard. this light came first time since i had the car for nearly five years.
I was told it after computer diagnose it needed new turbo, new particulate filter and refill of anti pollution fuel which will cost me nearly £1000.
I agreed to go ahead with repair. I had car back for 3 days and done only 50 mile that anti pollution light came back on.
booked the car back into garage they kept the car for 2 days and on collection they said they had reset the computer and it should be ok, after only 6 mile the light was back, took the car back and after 4 days service manager called me saying i need new ECU and BSI and it would cost me another 900 pounds,
I went berserk and ask to speak to the manager, and they refused, they called back the manager is busy in another branch he will call me back, nearly at the end of the day service supervisor called me and said he gas spoken to the manager and they will charge me only £258 for replacing ECU only but still not give any warrenty that BSI fault will go away. I am seeing him tommorow, I am in dilemma, will some one please advise me what i should do and what consumer rights i have.
Thanks

well... the engine management light - is this different from the anti pollution light?
Are you saying the first £1,000 fixed the engine management light and now, after that another light has come on?
I'm confused - you mention one light, but then say another light came back on?0 -
Engine management light came on and the message on screen showed Anti pollution system faulty, after diagnose was told need to replace PDF.
Same light came back on with same message and now they are asking £900 for ECU and BSI.0 -
in that case, given the initial repair did not fix the issue you want them to offset the cost of the parts (which they can swap back out for the originals - which thye should still have) - therefore - initial £1,000 - minus parts cost = remaining balance of labour + £900 for ECU and BSI (whatever that is - you sound like you know what you are talking about given you are using dealer abbreviations...)
They haven't fixed the issue and you are not going to allow them to use your wallet as a guinea pig. end of story.0 -
...p.s going 'beserk' is not constructive and will only hamper any efforts to reduce your repair cost...0
