there are buses that come right onto the park that take u to scarborough, filey and bridlington depending on what u like to do, scarborough quite busy , filey nice quieter beach but hilly and brid in between. when we were there the other week we visited all 3, in scarborough we went to the sealife (very expensive) for the length of time ur there, peasholm park at north bay very nice and there is a new activity centre called map at north bay which had tank driving, laser quest etc which my 12 year old loved (look on groupon teesside and theres a good offer on for it today)

Since you are at Reighton you could do some bird watching at Flamborough Head/ Bempton. Watch all the more unusual species, Gannets & Puffins etc. Take some binoculars or buy some for £1 in Poundland Scarborough.

If the weather is nice you can walk along the cliff top from the Park Entrance to Hunmanby Gap, its not far and an easy walk. There is a little cafe and toilets at Hunmanby Gap. You can then walk back along the beach to Reighton Gap.

Not sure on places to go by Public Transport but I agree that Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington are all worth a visit if you like seaside towns. If you go to Filey walk along the beach from the cobbled landing towards Filey Brigg. Go up the steep road to the Park at the top where there is a nice little play area if you have kids. You can then walk back through town.
