Cavity wall insulation while selling house

A friend has their house up for sale and it is not selling.

He is not really bothered because he is downsizing and hasn't found a house to buy yet anyway.

He has just changed his gas and electricity tariff and one of the enticements is cavity wall insulation and loft insulation and some energy survey for free as he is on some benefit.

He said he didn't want it but was told it was part of the tariff.

He already has the max loft insulation.

So should he go ahead with it, or not change his tariff?

He says knowing his luck when it is getting done that is when he will get a viewing.

He did say he thought it was done but was told a surveyer has to have a look. One of the terms of the tariff.

If he changes to this tariff from his present fixed tariff he will be paying about 26% less.

I suppose it could be an additional selling point.

Go for it or not?

    The disruption when cavity wall insulation is being put in is minimal.Mine was done in a day. If your friend is happy with the tariff being offered then the insulation it will be to everyone's advantage.

    My CWI was done in less than 2 hours for a semi detached house. Unless there are specific reasons why the house shouldn't have it, I'd go for it as it's something else you can put on the property particulars in this day and age of energy price rises.
