we have in our budget for my sons birthday £63 for his presents and his party food.
we can get him his present that comes to about £40 but i have about 12 adults and and 6 kids coming and he really wants exciting party food ( what he means by that is kids stuff sandwiches, sausage roll, crisp etc) cause before when i have done parties with so many adults i do curry and chilli and extras. What can i do to fill them up on a budget approx £20:beer: thanks for reading x

How about oven pizzas, frozen sausage rolls, chicken goujons etc. Mr M do big bags of frozen party food for 2 for £3 or even go to Iceland, you can generally get pizzas for about £1 each. Buy a multi pack of crisps (we got 24 packs of Walkers recently for £2.79) and put them into bowls. Wouldn't bother with sandwiches personally. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Invite everyone to bring a dish and a drink with them

Is your son old enought to understand the value of food / money? If he is get him to help you with the planning so he can understand that (for example) "real" cola costs £1.78 a bottle while "own brand" is 78p and so his party food money will stretch further.0 -
He is 4 this birthday but already has noticed that we get the value things mostly from tesco and when we go to the supermarket he says no you don't want that you want this which is the blue and white value one. (whoops) my other son who is 7 is so drawn in by colourful packets and ads on tv. The other day i said well im going to clean the bathroom, and i was dilly dallying a bit because i didnt fancy putting my hand down the bog. I also wanted my hubby to say "thank you so much for cleaning our carp off the loo" but all he said was "mmm ok". My eldest son turned round to me and said do you know what mum i know you hate cleaning the bathroom and do you know what you need? (a holiday in st lucia?) no cillit bang because bang and the dirt is gone:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I just did a party for my DD's 3rd birthday. We had Sainsbugs Basics Muffins cut in half, spread with tomato puree and grated cheese, perfect pizza and you'd get 12 mini pizzas for i think 69p. If you buy the 25p tom puree in a tin and some basics cheese they are quite cheap to make en masse. I did a few cheese and ham sandwiches, carrot and cucumber sticks. Bought some BOGOF biscuits (or you could make your own) and my crowning glory was some cupcakes I'd baked. One of the party activities was to decorate them with icing pens. Kids had a whale of time doing that and in the end they were added to the table of food for the kids to eat.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
