child tax credits renewal

Could someone please give some advice on how child tax credits are calculated.
I have one child who is recieving middle rate care DLA, recently reduced from high rate, so am no longer entitled to severe disability premium. After notifying the tax credit office about the change in circumstances, i am now waiting on a recalculation. I was initially receiving £135 child tax credit which included the severe disabilty premium and also a disability premium. I have been told there may be an overpayment. Does anyone know how much the tax credits payments will reduce overall, and will this effect housing benefit. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
