Can someone please advise, I left work in 2007 if I start a new job now what information will my P60 for new employer hold? i.e. will it have my earnings from 2007?

First of all you wouldn't give a new employer a P60 - you would give them a P45.
If you have left work in 2007 there is no point in giving any new employer a P45 as it's way out of date now. You need to complete a P46 when you start.0 -
Thanks, but I don't have a p45, would employer request either p60 or p45 from tax office or is this no longer relevent given the time scale ...?0

No employer wouldn't.
Your employer should ask you to fill in a P46. Make sure that happens.

Forget P60s and P45s. If you dont have a p45 to give your new employer you will complete a P46.
P60s are given in May of each year and contain only the information from the previous tax year. Hence your earnings from 2007/2008 would be only on the P60 dated April 2008make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Just fill the p46 in and give it to the employer0

have you not been getting benefits since 2007?0

Your employer should be able to give you a p46 to complete, if they say they dont have one ask them to download one from the HMRC website,
Do some basic research on the basic tax system, it amazes me how many people have just no idea how the tax system works and they are quite happy for the government to take money from their wages each week/month without checking that they are taking the correct amount.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

No, a P60 is a statement of your earnings and tax etc for the tax year just gone.
Did you not go onto JSA when yu finished work in 2007 and receive benefits because you were not working.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

No, no claiming anything, just took time off and used savings to do so, now looking at work. Thanks for response!0
