I made a new claim to child tax credits as my partner moved in he has recently been layed off work so the only income we are getting is job seekers and this is to feed myself partner and 3 kids plus pay all bills we are looking for work but has not been easy finding a job,:mad: we are meant to be getting child tax credits and have now been waiting for nearly 8 weeks for the first payment as u can image its very hard living off this budget after gas and electric were left with just over 50 pound a week. i am looking for some advice on how to get tax office to start paying child tax as i can not get past the advice centre every time i ring i am told something different as to why we still not receiving it first i was told it was rejected and had to reply for first 2 weeks because i had not responded and provided information the requested within the 30 days but 1, the claim was not even open 30 days and 2,i have received no letters, then i was told i had another new claim going through even though i have not replied because i was still not receiving any letters they had meant to have sent. but this one being processed and will have a payment in next few days fantastic i thought but still nothin in the bank so i rang them back and now i am told they can not find my daughters details because someone had typed her date of birth in wrong so i sent all birth certificate two weeks ago and they tell me they must have been lost in there post system even though i sent it recorded delivery and could still take 6 weeks for them to get to the right desk .the stuff they have came out with has been end less and i don't no how to get past call centre. i am not even able to go to a walk in centre as we don't have one near us or in our area. can anyone help on what best to do because we a struggling to manage i have a 1 year old and 7 and 9 year old. any advice would be much appreciated.

your gas and electric are £100 a week?

I'm not saying it isnt hard while youre waiting, but you have enough to feed yourselves until it is sorted out.
i dunt know why it takes so long, should be fairly straightforward.
  • child benifit is gone as soon as it hits bank i dont see that and i never said it cost 100 pound at all but with an old debt ele is 30 aweek and gas is 15 and 20 towards rent and yes my own doing and a few other bill but not all bills even i am left with just over 50 not being funny but have nappies milk wipes general stuff my daughter has allergy's to a lot of stuff which means i have to stay away from certain stuff even milk i have to bye different for her not that has anything to do with what im asking it not a case of getting 151 a week and that ours for kids for there needs i am a normal person still have out goings. don't mean to come across ungrateful but ur questioning what i said i dont see child benefit because of other reasons so never even thought to put it in sorry! i no it should be straight forward they keep telling me that i just wanted advice on how the best way is to get around them with out being fobbed off. not trying to say i will starve to death or out lol but U can Imagen 50 pound not a lot to get by on with 3kids i will happily do with out for my kids that what parenting about. anyway i dont want people to a feel sorry for me i just wanted advice that's all thought if i put my situation in some one would no best way to get it sorted thats all but thank away
  • Does your local Tax Office have an enquiry centre? We have one in Nottingham and they are very good at sorting things out.
  • yeah but im told im unable to go as its not a walk in one and when i phone the main centre number o8453003900 they tell me i am unable to be put through and will send a request asking for them to contact me but still not had a response. i been it touch with welfare rights and they advised i contact my mp as they have no free appointment till 17th of next month to help me out they can not contact them on my behalf with out me being there you see did not want to have to contact mp but as im sure he has more important things to do was hoping to try and sort it my self but don't look like i will get anywhere lol oh well not alot i can do just wait and see i guess and hope it wont be rejected again.
