Sansa clip+ 8gb is a great little MP3 player and you can easily add extra memory with a micro sd card.. picked up one on amazon the other week £400

I can certainly recommend a Sony.NWZ-S638. The one I bought I picked up for around £40 for an 8gig model. Paired with a pair of Sennheiser PX100 headphones the sound quality is great. I've listened to my wife's ipod nano and an ipod touch and would rate the Sony as a better sound.

I have a sansa clip as well and tbh i don`t like the sound on it.Its too low and i`ve tried to turn it up. Apparantly according to Sansa forum they`re set low because of EU regulations and to change them you have to go into the settings and find a non EU country to turn it up !! I`ve tried but can`t do it.0 -
on mine (quite recently bought) you go to setting>systems settings> volume > high/normal0
