Dolars?????

I habe about 20 000 dollars in savings and I am not sure what to do with them. Change then in ounds( will loose if I do that) or leave them in dollars and wait that dollar increase in value. What would you do???

  • Unless you really need the money now it is a bad time to exchange dollars to pounds.
What you have to weigh up however is whether the rate for you will get better or worse this year.
My crystal ball's a bit blurry this morning so sorry can't help there.

I am in precisely the same position.
I have a similar amount in dollars sitting in the US that a family member left to me. I should have brought it over here years ago when the rates weren't so bad (but who was to know it would nearly be 2 dollars to the pound these days).
Anyway, I don't need it (so think I'll leave it for now)... but it earns a poor interest rate of about 4.5%. I hate it just sitting there, I know I can get it earning closer to 6% over here.
Still, too expensive to bring it over.

Say it takes 10 years for the dollar to recover and the interest rates stay at a similar rate as they are today... I really dont know what the right thing to do is (besides move to america and spend it there).
