Concrete House Remedial Work (Defective Cornish PRC Construction)

Hi,
Can anyone advise on the costs involved for remedial work on a PRC "Cornish" house?
They have a few for sale in the area going cheap. Obviously we won't get a mortgage until the remedial works are done, so it will be a case of remortgaging our current house until then.
Thanks.

There are a small number of specialist mortgage lenders that may enable you to take a mortgage with money available for you to carry out the remedial work.
It is worth contacting the building services department of the local council to fins out whether they have an approved contractor to carry out the remedial works or a list of those in the area who carry out the works, who they can recommend.
I am also aware that the NHBC has a list of approved repair contractors.
Costs depend greatly on the amount of work to be done and indeed the contractor carrying out the works.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -

Fortunately our exisiting mortgage is relatively small and we can afford to remortgage our current house, which seems to make sense anyway in that we can have the remedial work done before we move in. And removes all the hassle of being in chains, etc.0
