Dear All,
I apologise if this one of those perennial postings that comes up but please bear with me.
I have £250k to invest and need some advice.
Aged 61 , I am a self employed plumber and plan to retire at 70 and currently have very limited pension provision. Fortunately my wife and I own the house outright and have no debts.
I have a deep distrust of financial advisers (been there) and would welcome any suggestions of how I could either invest this sum or maybe point me towards articles &/or books that could help me.
Any advice would be most welcome,
Regards,
Nick
PS: Running a plumbing business is easy compared to sorting this out!

No idea about books but the best way to learn is to do it rather than read a book.
However with £250k.... you say you have a distrust of financial advisors, well theres nothing anyone here can really suggest as a newbie, you could easily drop the money down a drain (excuse the pun) as you are inexperienced.0
