consumer rights on TV's

Options
hi,
I bought an LG 42 inch plasma television a little over 3 years ago from a home exhibition at Birminghams NEC. 2 days ago the picture dissapeared, I researched this item online and found out that many other people had had the same problem with this model.
Do i have the right to contact LG and ask for a repair or replacement as the tele is not very old.
I was told about the Trade of Goods Act 1979,apparently Televisions should last 6 Years according to this when used in normal conditions.
