I need help with finding a good mascara!

I'd love to wear falsies as opposed to mascara, but I really struggle putting them on. Due to my lashes being quite sparse, I can't even just get away with wearing corner lashes.
Have you any tips on how to apply them without making a mess?0 -

It's quite easy once you've had a bit of practice. First job is to get the right size lashes...so choose your lashes, then place them against your eye (you can use tweezers, holding them in the middle, so it's easier to handle them). Cut them down to the size of your eye....saying that, I've never had to do that as they're normally the same length as my eye so you might not need to. Then trim the lashes to your desired length, depending on how dramatic/natural you want to go.
Next, get your glue...it's important to use a good one. I use eyelure but I know everyone raves about duo adhesive.
Get your glue open and at the ready.Hold the lashes in one hand with tweezers, with the tweezers placed in the middle of the lash. Apply a layer of glue to the lash then....this is important....count for 15 seconds. As you get used to it you won't need to do this, but at first, wait for 15-30 seconds, so the glue goes tacky. While the glue is going tacky, bend them into a horseshoe shape, to make them easier to apply.
Once the glue has gone 'tacky', place the lash onto the eyelid, starting in the centre. You can then place the sides on..when you have them in place, make sure they're as close to the lashline as possible. Then turn your tweezers round and with the 'slant' edge, press down on the lashes, to ensure they're firmly stuck to the lid.
If you use an invisiband lash, then you can just leave it at that, and the lashes won't be noticeable. However if it's a black lash band (like most are), apply a thin layer of black liquid eyeliner just to blend the lashes to your lid. Lastly, carefully apply mascara to blend your lashes with the false lashes....or, you can curl your eyelashes beforehand, and I find they blend with the falsies without mascara.
Hope this helps, it's so hard to put into words! Every day I get asked about my lashes...when I tell people they're fake they usually always ask what salon does it/how I do it when I tell them I do them myself. I feel so guilty cos I'm so useless at describing how to do it! But once you've had a bit of practice, it'll literally take seconds. Good luck!

Good tips for application, I would add that when I use a pair of new lashes I first bend them backwards around a pencil to break the spine and give more control before I put glue on them, also its important to custom fit the lashes and always apply to lashes with mascara on but you dont need to add more mascara to the false lashes when they are on and then you can reuse if you take off carefully, I dont Like Mac Duo glue and prefer the Revlon one you can buy in Boots, it costs about £5, lasts the best part of a year with everyday use and dries clear:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Most people think I'm mad when I tell them what my favourite is at the moment, I've tried the dearer ones, Avon ones - of which some are good - I've tried Asda ones one of which was a right mare to get off and it wasn't even waterproof.
But the one I always have some of in and wear every day is the >> W7 Big Lash Mascara
I like the brush and for me it goes on really nice, doesn't clump the lashes and really makes them look good and long. Plus it's really cheap which is even better.
I do want to try one I haven't yet the >> Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Mascara Which has had good reviews on YouTube, is a bit dearer than the W7 but I would give a go.0 -

I saw this treatment http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.224509/walk.yah.UKHB~U073~UKAL on QVC recently.
It is expensive but it appears from the reviews it is either loved or hated. You do have a 30 day moneyback with QVC so you can return it. On the show they explained how it was developed for someone who had cancer.0
