Setting up a premium text number?

I asked recently on here about trying to run a raffle online to cast a larger net, but you guys helped me find out that I need a gambling license for that!
So I was thinking would it maybe be worthwhile setting up a premium text line, ask a simple question and have people text in the answer to be entered into the draw... People do this easier than pulling a pound out of their pocket I believe (or 50p or whatever we can set the number up to cost), but I havn't the first clue about getting one of these set up..
I did a quick internet search but didn't really learn much, so I was wondering if anyone on here had any experience with these?
If I run a raffle within the "club setting" we may sell 30-50 tickets... but I dont really have any other avenue of hitting people up for ticket sales (I dont work in an office or anything like that!) so I think a text line to get complete randomers may be a good idea!
Hope somone can help

Sorry I should have added.... I have found some website that offer the service (for example one that you pay £100 and then £20 a month) so I have found some simple information, but I would love to hear from anyone that has any experienc ewith setting one up..

you will need to contact http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/ to get their advise etc. as you would need to be registered with them to run any phone-paid services in the UK0

Generally your cut may be around 80+p of a £1.50 text/call, it varies network by network, and there are several providers who will do this for you. On top of that you have the management costs of the competion - the service providers will be able to advise.
As a rule, these things are only viable if you have a significant user base, so you will need a unique service, or advertise yours heavily :-)0 -
There tends to be two options, one is to get your own number which is fairly expensive or the alternative is to have a range of keywords on a shared number, which is much cheaper but obviously if your wanting to change keywords often it adds up or if people miss type the keyword no only do they not get entered into the draw/ get the info but you dont get the revenue (and they may complain that they did get entered and demand a refund)0
