Will you need to hire a van or anything for your stuff? Not sure of your current position (with parents? Renting?).
Yep, inform utilities, council, etc. Broadband might take longer to set up (and indeed cancel if you need to do that too).
Inform your friends, family, bank accounts, driving licence, any insurances, pension... honestly, the list is endless. There'll be one online somewhere, if not in a sticky on this forum.
Might want to do an online grocery shop to your new address on the day of or after your move. Depends how much unpacking, and/or cleaning you have to do!
Good luck in your new home

Congrats.
Utility bills - take all readings when you get into your new home on Friday.
Importantly - ensure buildings insurance on the new place starts from TODAY.
If you know the phone number call BT or your telecoms-provider-to-be and see if they'll kick things off early. They won't switch the phone to you until Friday at the earliest. It usually takes a few says and broadband another 7-10 days on top.
Get your mail redirect application in now if you haven't. It usually can only start approx a week after your application at the earliest so no time to be lost on that.3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.

hi, thanks for replies, i should of put some extra detail in post,
we are both living with parents atm that dont live to far away,
buildings insurance has started and in place.
we wont be living in the house straight away, as thre is no rush to get out of parents and needs a bit of decorating and new boiler installing before we move in fully.
The GF works at the council so knows what to do with the council tax,
not too fussed with broadband until in and settled tbh, it aint a must
just the rest of the utilities were not sure about, i have read somewhere before to use the current providor of the sellers for a few months, is the best thing to do just ring them and have it set up? can i do this tomoro ready and set up for friday? or can i not do this till we have keys on friday.
the sellers moved out of the property a few weeks ago,
thanks again0 -
The previous owners will likely tell the current utilities they are leaving, along with final meter readings.
After not too long, the current utilities will probably send you a letter asking who you are. Everything should just carry on from there.0 -

so im guessing the best thing to do would be inform them who we are with the meter readings when we get in? and nothing else to do for the time being?
