in Credit cards
Hi, previously posted re my first dabble with stoozing.
Just trying to sort out credit limits with first direct and egg.
At current my husband's limit with FD is very low, but we are in the process of returning forms which will result in him getting a gold card with a £17k limit.
We are trying to squeeze a higher credit limit out of Egg and they have asked him to confirm what other cards he's got and what the credit limits are.
Now, does he say the lower amount before the change, or £17k even though we only posted the agreement back to FD yesterday?
Anybody?

If it favours your application then I'd give the lower amount. As of today your credit limit is the lower amount. Fill in the form quickly and send it off while this is still true.0

The problem Egg are having is that HSBC (inc First Direct) do not share their account information with Equifax and Experian (the credit reference agencies) unless you don't run your account properly.
I'd tell them your classic card credit limit, since you don't have confirmation your gold application has been accepted yet.
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Cheers for that rafter. I had a feeling I'd seen something somewhere that FD kept their own credit records.
The only thing I'm slightly nervous about is that he signed and dated the FD form with yesterday's date, but I guess that is pretty irrelevant if their credit information is not shared anyway.
It's not like we even know the new card number yet.0
