Ideas on how to let someone know you appreciate them?

Hello all.
Basically my DH is my full time carer. I have M.E as well as mental health issues so can't look after myself very well so need someone with me at all times etc.
I really want to let my DH know how much I appreciate everything he does for me but I'm not sure how to go about it?
He doesn't drink or go out that much and doesn't really like to but I don't want to just buy him something because I do that alot so it wouldn't really be "special", if that makes sense?
He's 21 so still quite young. He's really heavily into films/music/video games.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.:o

Would it be possible to arrange a respite carer for the day to allow your DH to have the day to himself to play games/ watch films etc? Maybe he would appreciate the time rather than anything physical? Just a suggestion, he sounds wonderful x0

I think the suggestion of respite care is a good one. If you would rather do something together do the pair of you have a favourite restaurant you could go out to? Make it lunch rather than dinner and then go for a nice walk or onto the theatre. Quality time and some fun would do you both the world of good I would think0

Wear what Adrianne Curry wore at Comic Con!
Apart from that, i'm no help, usually get anything I want myself!

If he's into music you could get him tickets to see his favourite band?0

Hello you :hello:
You could always just tell him what you just told us, that you love him and he's really special to you

Thank you everyone for your replies so far.

I've just been onto the 02 Academy Bristol website and I've discovered that our fav band Opeth is playing so really going to try to get tickets for that. Not sure how my M.E will cope but seeing Opeth will be well worth the pain and exhaustion!
I've told him how much I appreciate him but he doesn't really believe me
hence me wanting to physically show it.
I asked him about the respite care thing and he said a blanket "no".

This is a soppy alert! At valentines I did hearts for my hubby - some said I love you because... x, y, z and the others were memories eg places we had been together. He loved them and kept them. Very cheap, thoughtful and very personal to you both.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0
