having read that persons post about how you can see whos looking at what on your comp, its quite worrying! is there anything you can do to COMPLETELY erase your activity (short of destroying the hard drive...)

Boot from a CD using a Linux live-boot. Surf web. Turn off PC.
(Of course the NSA's Echelon network will have a back-door into your ISP)0 -

Have you been looking at those gothfaketanning sites again?
https://www.ccleaner.com and http://www.theabsolute.net/sware/clndisk.html is a good start.
Doesn't work on a psp though, and doesn't sort out wireless encryption either.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Another great thing about ccleaner is that you can set it to overwrite the data it erases - which includes the recycle bin.
So you can still use the recycle bin to keep your deleted documents - Just run ccleaner and let it empty the recycle bin rather than emptying it yourself and things being removed from it will be really erased rather than just marked deleted.
For files you have already unsecurly deleted, some file-restore program (like Restoration) have the ability to delete all the files it finds.0 -

well it won't erase your activity but will make it nigh on impossible for anyone (as long as you use a good enough password 40 chars or so) to see what you've been doing
http://gentoo-wiki.com/SECURITY_System_Encryption_DM-Crypt_with_LUKS
will show how to install linux on an encrypted hard drive that would take years to crack.0 -
