Hi,

Last November I had a no fault accident on the M6. The other drivers insuranse, RSA paid the claim without problem. My own no claims was never touched.

I got the new renewal through in June which only had 3 years no claims on it. Ibuyeco had decided to remove 6 years. I did argue this and provide proof that I was not at fault and did still have full no claims however, Ibuyeco wouldn't accept the proof I provided because it apparently had to come direct from the underwriters. The information I provided and they confirmed having is no longer in my file. The quotation they gave was just under £1000 which for 3 years no claims did compare with the rest of the companies I had quotes from so no real reason for me to change insurance company.

As if by magic, shortly after the first payment was made at £91 per month, the full no claims were put back on. When I get a qoute from any other company, they all come back between £300 and £500 whereas IBuyEco are coming in at £723.

I've asked about cancelling the policy which by some miracle will cost the same as the policy itself.

IBuyEco maintain that I am not paying extra because if I went somewhere else i would be paying less for being a new customer. My argument is that had they not messed up my no claims in the first place, I would have been able to get a correct quote from the other companies and obviously would have moved my insurance. The way I see it is I am now basically paying £400 extra this year because IBuyEco decided that because I'd had an accident and Zurich didn't have info on it, I must drop 6 years no claims.

Zurich have informed me they have no record of it because the claim in its entirety was dealt with by RSA and my insurance was not involved which makes sense to me.

How it looks to me is I am now basically being penalised for a mistake made by someone in IBuyEco or Zurich. Whichever one made the mistake I really don't care the issue here is that this year I am £400 lighter for an error made outside of my control.

Is this right enough or is there a procedure I can go through? I've been through the Customer Relations department with IBuyEco and have informed the Ombudsman. Where I am now is 4 months into a policy during which I have paid what I would have paid for a whole year elsewhere with no sign of this being resolved.
