MCE insurance warning

I had the misfortune to insure my bike with a company called MCE insurance.
I am so annoyed and angry right now, so I will keep to the facts.
1) upon cancellation of my policy (sold the bike) they said it would take 8 weeks to process any request for refund
2) within that period I closed and moved my account, my choice, not their fault, however I repeatedly rang to request that a cheque be raised in my name and sent to the address on the certificate of insurance.
3) they sent the payment as a reversal on the card that no longer exists, despite my repeated warning/request as this is standard policy even though they could see diary requests to this effect as stated by the lady on the phone.
They now claim that the money is with my bank, my bank say it was immediately returned to them.
I have no refund.
I was astounded that it would take 8 weeks to process a refund in the first instance however I accepted that, but to then find that they refunded to a card they were told is no longer active is what I find unacceptable.
I advise anyone to avoid this company like the plague, extremely unprofessional to deal with on the phone and the whole episode has left a pretty sour taste in the mouth.

I took out a policy with MCE Insurance on 31 jan , at first they tried to make the policy active from the 7 Feb which was no good so I phoned them and the guy we talked to was very rude so we called back and talked to a supervisor (Louise) who said she would sort it out , we asked for a refund and cancelled the policy. it took many phone calls until the 8th before they acknowledged the policy was cancelled , they keep saying they'll call back but never do, after many more calls today 20th they say I'm entitled to no refund and yet again no manager or supervisor is available so "theyll call me back".
I am now stuck as I still have no refund 21 days after I asked for the policy to be cancelled and a refund be made.
I recommend everyone DO NOT USE MCE INSURANCE as they just seem to be a bunch of chancers ripping everyone off0 -
anyone having troubles with mce insurance watch out for "big ed" he works for mce and seems to spend some of his time distracting people from making complaints. by making them feel someone is helping .
instead complain to the financial ombudsman service and trading standards ,you'll get more response from them0
