Are Charity bags worthwhile to the charity?

Have had a bag put through the door this morning from a charity (it is a charity, not one of those scam companies) and its a charity I would like to give to. It says on the bag that the charity gets at least £50 for a tonne. Is this a good deal for the charity?

that's maybe for old clothes, to be sold on as rags etc.
Any good clothing would be sold in their local store.
If you are able to, perhaps bringthe clothes in yourself, after having them cleaned. Nobody wanrts to buy / work with dirty clothing.
Other bric a brac could be taken in too, without fear of breakages.0 -
No - take it to one of their shops directly, then they will get the rich pickings to sell at considerably more than £50/tonne, and then any leftovers they then sell on for the same kind of price.0

That is an awful deal for the charity and looks like it is a commercial operation using the charity name. It looks like the benefit is purely one-sided and I would report this to the charity commission as a commercial enterprise masquerading as a charity.
FYI according to research a charity makes roughly £20.00 for every bag you leave directly with them.
£50 per tonne works out a 50p per bag.0 -
Its not a charity that has any stores which is the problem.
Think I will have to give this a miss and give it to a different charity that has a store local. 50P a bag is quite shocking when the clothes are good quality - Next/Gap/Debenhams etc. I would ebay them but im too lazy .Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0
