I have a loan from Freedom on which I'm trying to reclaim the PPI. This morning I've had a letter from MCR Corporate Restructuring telling me that Wilmslow Financial Services plc has gone into administration and is insolvent and I will have to send my claim to the Ombudsman.

Is Wilmslow Financial Services anything to do with Freedom Finance?

Hi there,this was most likely a brokered loan,what year was this loan taken out?.

Hi there

Normally if they have gone down under as such, then it will be the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if eligible, and it then depends on what year you taken out the loan, but if they've mentioned the FOS then contact them first and see what they have to suggest.

Thanks for your replies. On re-reading the letter, it does say I need to contact the FSCS rather than the FOS. The loan was taken out in 2008.

I've also done some research and it appears that Freedom Finance used Wilmslow Financial Services to provide the PPI, and it is that company that has gone into administration.

Oh well, onwards and upwards (hopefully!)
