Re-locating to Devon

I am exploring the possibility of moving to Devon.
I do not drive and will need to be in an area with good bus/train links to hospitals in Exeter.
I have considered Exeter itself but it seems a bit too pricey/studenty for me.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

Studenty/pricey? I suppose it depends whereabouts in Exeter you are looking.

There are some very nice residential areas. What are you looking for? A flat? A house? What is your budget?

I am Exeter born and bred and am currently trying to sell my late Mother's 2 bedroomed detached bungalow. I'm not trying to sell it to you, by the way.....I just thought I'd mention it as I am in the "market" at the moment.

Selling is grim, grim, grim, at the moment in Exeter. It is definitely a buyers' market and as long as you have funding in place then I reckon the world is your oyster. There are lots of houses and flats that have been on the market for ages and I am sure any seller would bite your arm off if you have funding in place.

Have you tried looking on Rightmove's website? Just about everything that is available is on there.

Newton Abbot has a train station/bus station and it doesn't take too long to get to Exeter from there :)

There's a bus from Exeter to Crediton that runs once an hour, so presumably anywhere on that bus route would suit you?

I like your user name, so that sums up your condition?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There's a brilliant park and ride at Sowton, near the M5 services. Not only is it a park and ride, it is also alongside the Sowton/Digby train station, so as long as you are somewhere that has a train station itself, with trains going to Sowton/Digby then that should be OK. Somewhere like Exmouth? There are frequent trains and you'd have a lovely coastal train ride too!

Do you need the hospitals for your work or is it due to health issues? May I ask how old you are? Just to get a better picture!
