Ringing travel agents!

When ive been ringing round travel agents to see if they can beat the quote ive been given for a holiday ive heard different tales to get me to book asap with them, like there is only these 2 seats left on the plane or there is only one room left for these dates at the hotel. I know these are probably and load of bull but ive just been told by one agent that the more an agent searches for a specific holiday then it could push the price of the holiday up is this true or again just more talking rubbish?

well my own trave agent opinion is the seats on plane is hard to tell unless they are putting in max of usually 9 people and it doesnt show the same flight for say 2 people, rooms they can normally see you could possibly be correct, but the price thing i have found to be true on many occasions as they are priced on supply and demand so the more times a certain flight and hotel is viewed the more interest if you see what i mean.

Low-cost airlines have been known to up the price of flights based on large numbers of searches, so it's probably not as far fetched as it sounds.
