AA, CA and hospital

Hello,
My Mum gets AA, and I get CA because of that.
She had a mild stroke last week and had to go into hospital. Fortunately she has recovered well and will be returning home this week.
Reading stuff from the internet, she has 28 days before her AA is affected.
So, my questions are:
Because she's been in for less than 28 days, do we need to actually do anything?
Also, what I can't seem to find out is, do we inform the DWP ourselves, or will 'the system' know she's been in hospital.
Thanks.

You should inform the DWP but it shouldn't affect your CA or your mum's AA.
- I claim DLA and was told that I should report hospital admissions but it didn't affect anything when I did.

Thanks MrsManda,
That link was very useful.
Just out of interest, do you phone them or send them a letter. Plus, do they confirm they have 'logged' the info in any way.

you should tell them anyway becuse the time she spent in hospital links up so if she wnt in again before 28 days have elapsed then the week she has been in will count towards the 28 days0
