Hi,
We have decided on engineered wood for our kitchen/dining/living rooms. I have had samples from ukflooringdirect of this wood and I really like it, it seems very solid and well made.
Has anyone used them? are they any good?
Also-is it worth paying the extra for acoustic underlay? And why is this one more expensive than this one? The kitchen has a concrete subfloor so I know we need a vapour barrier.
Should I buy any extras apart from underlay-?Am I better to have a door strip in the door between dining room and living room-or can it be a straight run? I know I'll need one for the hall. Is there a better or cheaper place to buy the underlay/accessories than here?
Sorry for all the questions-its such a lot of money to spend in one hit I want to make sure its right.

UK Flooring Direct is a company I know well professionally. They are one of the fastest growing online retailers in the country and have achieved this on the back of quality customer service. There are a few thousand ratings on their website which should give you some confidence.
If you want a reason why to use a certain underlay rather than another, then I suggest you give them a call. If their explanation of why you should spend more doesn't wash then don't spend more.
As for accessories, you're unlikely to find them cheaper at a regular retailer or DIY store. When considering the door strips think about the gap under your existing doors.
The shipment will be on a pallet or 2, so make sure you're home when it arrives, and have space inside to stack it!0 -

Do they have an employee of the month scheme?0 -
I have used them several times & they were lovely. We didn't use door strips but ran flat though the doors. No idea about the underlay, I have a feeling we bought the green felt blocks from wickes & sent them back as the floor would have been hugely high! Something on a roll went under the floor, but it was a while ago & I can't remember what or where from.
It did come on a huge pallet, & was left outside my house. Builders did grumble a bit bringing it in0 -

I ordered a quantity of laminate flooring from them a few weeks back and was very happy with both the products and service.
I had a few packs with a manufacturing fault so I emailed them, which was returned within the hour, and this was followed up with a phone call the next day. The packs were replaced the following week and they told me I could keep the faulty ones and use them up wherever I could.0 -
And so impressed by this company, you had to join MSE, seek out this thread and sing their praises !.
Maybe we need to give fortune the benefit of the doubt because otherwise we would never allow newbies to recommend anyone. Fortune has posted other posts about other issues i.e. not flooring so I tend to think he is genuine.0 -

Hello Stockwire, I also know Karndean, Brintons, Wilton, Headlam and Amtico very well professionally. Someone asked for an opinion on a company and a product I know well. Would you rather I kept my mouth shut and waited for the opportunity to be sarcastic behind a veil of anonymity? Or would you rather I made an attempt to help someone?0 -

Suspicions arise when a post sounds like it is an extract from a sales manual.0
