If there was no legality in their claims, then nobody would be taken to court and have to pay costs to them;)

I can see they might well win if the registered keeper identified the driver (or admitted being the driver) which I suppose is the reason all the advice to potential victims is either deny being the driver or don’t respond at all.

The ones who have not responded are the ones who have been ordered to pay the most costs.

When you say “The ones who have not responded are the ones who have been ordered to pay the most costs” are you talking about not responding to the invoices/letters or not responding to the issued court papers?

If it’s the former than I really can’t see how a court case could happen without evidence of who was driving.

If you are talking about the latter which I’d guess would only happen if they had evidence of the identity of the driver then I agree, poor old punter is probably going to lose (but only because they were dim enough to respond early letters and identify the driver.)

I’ll stick to my drop it in the bin tactic

UKCPS list the cases they win, not the ones they lose. Here's one from March! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?285707-mpdollar-gets-UKCPS-court-claim!!-update-UKCPS-LOST-IN-COURT!!/page5&highlight=ukcps

Against an identified driver. Plus of course this is the company who boasted about 5 wins against premiership footballers!

    Interesting thread particularly posts #89 & 90

#89…….Number 1 rule, IGNORE, thats what i did and after a few month no more letters.

#90…….I fully agree. This once again points up the vital importance of not "appealing" and not contacting the PPC in any way. Without that vital piece of information regarding the identity of the driver, they are stymied.

Sounds like good advice to me

    I preferred post 81.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
