What fee was it that was charged and why were you not aware the charge could have been made ?
If it was a truely dormant account, then it would not have gone overdrawn.
The usual cause of this on a "dormant" account is a forgotten about Continuous Payment Authority.
While thankfully I am not defending an account not being monitored for 6 months, neither do I defend banking practice that allows Continous Payment Authority as a mechanism - with (unlike Direct Debit) no listing (either customer or bank) of current arrangements.
Just another example of consumer regulation failure.0
