Looking to rent- credit referencing

Hi
Ive been living with a partner for 13 years and now things are bad and im essentially a lodger...as she has lost her job ive also built a little debt up propping her up.
I have maybee 2k on my credit card, 1k overdraught each month and 2k outstanding on a 3k loan...so around 5k debt with a net income of
1350 pounds a month
i always pay the minimum credit card payment though, never go over my overdraught limit, and never miss a loan payment, no CCJ's etc
Ive thought about moving into my dads for a couple of months
to get my finances better- before renting
However my dad has had numerous debt issues while at his current address, and im worried that somehow the 'address' will cause me problems
So if anyone can advise id be very greatful
1) Ive already checked with estate agents and renting history is not an issue, its all on employer references and a credit check... with 5k debt, but no defaults and everything paid every month on time should i have problems?. The rent im looking at is 500/month so even with debt payments it isnt a problem to pay.
2) If i move into my dads first...and change my official address, will the bad credit associated with the address affect my credit rating in any way?
Thanks.

With no defaults and no CCJs your credit-checks will come out fine as long as you can afford the rent. Which on your take-home pay you can. What is in doubt it whether you can save up enough for the first month's rent and the deposit. Which is presumably why you're thinking of moving into your father's place first.

Your father's bad credit-rating will be attached to him and not the address. This should not prove to be a problem for you unless you both have the same first and second names.0
