Removal from GRO index reference

Hello,
Firstly, I'm not too sure if this is in the right area however this seemed most appropriate although if anyone can recommend a more appropriate section I'll happily post it there. For personal reasons (extremely long story) I would like my birth certificate and any information about me removed from the GRO index reference. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how would I go about doing so?
Thanks,

I don't believe that you can get details removed from the GRO BMD index.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Thanks for your help everyone, I will call them in the morning and hopefully post my result.0

It's an official Government record, so I suspect it can't be done. I'll be interested to learn their response.0

Dredging aroung in my memory I know of someone who wanted a mistake corrected in the GRO records. It involved him petitioning the High Court.0

I think, in the interests of clarity, someone ought to explain the what the flipping heck the GRO BMD index is.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
