Bank Charges. Need Some Help!

Hi.
I have held bank accounts with HSBC & Halifax when going through college (within the past 6 years) and was constantly charged for various things but the vast majority was for being overdrawn etc.
I managed to overhaul my finances somewhat and closed down the accounts with the above banks as I no longer needed them.
Does anyone know a way of getting details of the charges the above banks even though the accounts are closed. Also if I ask my current bank for details of all charges within the past 6 years am I entitled to them?
Finally does this work for loans & credit cards also or is this just exclusive to bank charges?
Thanks for your help
John

Hi,
No problem here. You can still demand details of closed accounts for the last six years.Look in the forums and get a Data Protection(SAR) letter sent to all the banks. If you have problems let me know and I will send you a template that I used with good effect sent to you by e mail if you let me have your e mail address0 -

Yes you can reclaim unlawful charges on Loans and Credit Cards also. Also if I ask my current bank for details of all charges within the past 6 years am I entitled to them?
Yes. But if you are making a claim against your current bank, make sure you open a parachute account in case they close your current account.
As beechville said, send your previous creditors(banks) a DPA/SAR request and they will provide you with a list of all charges for the previous six years even if the account is closed.0 -
