Can anyone help with my Council Tax bill?

Hello all,

I'm quite new to paying council tax (have just garduated) and I'm a little confused. We're renting a flat with a council tax band C. Our bill has came through when we moved in (July) and it states that the balance is £900 for 10months.

That's fine I thought, £90 a month is managable. However, I have just checked my finances and I have been paying £113.00 a month! Is this right??

Thanks for any advice in advance

(I know I should have checked this before now, but we're moving again and have only just fished out the bill)

    Could be right,

When was your first payment? + How do you pay? d/d/cash etc

Add up your payments and see if you arrive at £900.

Council tax payments run for 10 months from April to January, you then get two months off before it all starts again.

If you happen to start paying in May/June, then you don't start a fresh 10 month period, you start an 8 month period (or 8 months and 13 days pro rata etc....)

If you're unsure, call your council, they are generally quite helpful.

started paying the 1st July and last payment should be 1st feb (according to my bill). That does add up to £900 (stupid me-sorry!). paying by dd

I am just so confused about council tax. So council tax is only paid for 10months of the year then?
