Bosch Dishwasher

4 years old, saw LL in the display (never seen that before), went pop, saw a spark and could smell burning. Turned it off and on again but it has died.

Is it worth getting repaired, or finding out what is wrong (that will cost a call-out fee), or should I just get a new one?

Ooooooooo, switched it off and on again and it came back to life! Wonder what the burning smell was???????????????????

That happened to me once with the washing machine ! Its still working 6 months later so just cross your fingers......I wonder if it was a slug.....we get them slide in our kitchen every now and again. One once got in our central heating timer and blew it up !!

It could be a low level warning (LL ?) and the burning smell could be uncovered heating elements.

Not sure if they are that protected but if a bit of grunge gets into one of the valves the water can drain during use. It is a good idea to run a cleaning cycle on dishwashers, you can buy proprietary chemicals to do it, if you do always do it on the hottest setting possible - not very eco-friendly but the only way to break down the grease and stuff that collects in the workings.
