Can anyone tell me if you sell via Amazon and Ebay do you have to send recorded delivery to know that it got there?
I have sold a book and will only make £3.10 after fees so its not exactly likely to need insurance or anything but should I be sending the items recorded/signed for?

i dont send recorded if it is only a cheap item as you wont make as much profit, i have never had anything get lost and under a certain amount you can claim from proof of postage so i think it is worth the risk to send normal post.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

I sell from ebay, but I put a couple of different options on my listings so that people can choose the delivery they want, and show what cost each option is and usually they tend to pick recorded, or if you wanted you could only offer them recorded. I prefer it so I know its been received and they cant say otherwise.
However not sure you can do that on amazon.0 -
Thanks Bex! That makes sense. I'll just send it normal delivery then. Ooh my first Amazon sale:)Sealed Pot challenge: # 1376: £??

Thanks Claire! I think recorded was an option but I didnt offer it. I will go back and amend my other listings. You're right to give people the choice.Sealed Pot challenge: # 1376: £??

Good for you. I bought a Holga camera before through ebay. what the seller did, we just communicate. The seller call me and arrange for the delivery after I sent my payment in her account. Though, it is a little risky but I got my camera and I am happy so far with my purchase.0

You're covered for loss up to £46 with your COP, so make sure that you keep that. RD often doesn't track to delivered online so you've wasted 77p & still can't prove that it's been delivered safely.
Well done on your first amazon sale.0 -

I've sold loads of stuff through ebay and I've never sent by recorded delivery as it's usually cheap (99p).Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

Thanks all!
Well, since listing a few books earlier this week I have made £16. I have just listed about 30 more books. It is so bizarrely addictive.
I am off to check the Ebay thread now and to list some baby items on there! :jSealed Pot challenge: # 1376: £??

If the item is less than say £10 then, it's not worth paying any extra for recorded or special delivery, but always give the customer an option f they wish to pay extra for any item, as we all know that things can go wrong and especially in the Ebay/Amazon world of doing business.
