Help 3 Network Sim but 3 tell me I must buy there Phone??

Can anyone help I lost my mobile over Christmas left it in a taxi and someone took it!!! Anyway rang 3 who sent me a new sim cost me £5 put it in a spare phone and it would not work.

On ringing 3 they say that there sims will only work in 3 network phones so now want another £45!!! The phones I have are an unlocked Nokia and A Siemens. Is what 3 telling me correct? If so I will be putting a warning in the Telephone section as it just seems like a rip off to me. All other operators do not have this restriction to my knowledge.

Sorry about the rant but any assistance would be appreciated.

As far as I'm aware 3 sims only work in 3 phones

hi go to savers or super drug and buy the cheap motorola phone as the sim in that one is not glued in, the flip up phone usualy has the sim glued in so avoid the flip phone,I paid £15.00 for mine to keep as a spare phone and know its a brick but cheap spare give it a try also the 3 sims will only work in a 3 g phone not only a 3 phone, ie vodaphone uses 3 g
