I reckon ones that have been sitting in people's baskets but their orders wouldn't go through are hitting the 2-hour time limit and being released - that's maybe why it's appearing to be coming back into stock every now and again.

It's worth noting that we're really quick at picking, packing and processing your order - it gets done really quickly after you click on the 'place order' button. We're really proud of this, but it means we're not able to make any amendments to your order including changing the delivery address, items colours and sizes or removing items from your order.
You can cancel your order up to 1 hour after placing it for Standard and Style-Saver delivery orders. You have up to 30 minutes to cancel your order for Express delivery options (like Express, Next Day and Premium Next Day).
Just log into your ASOS account where you can view the last 5 orders placed. This will give you the option to cancel in the specified timeframe.
