Tuesday 26th July 2011 - What Small Things will you do today……?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.!
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning all,
Thought I’d start us all off again today then I can start work
Today I have/will
• Will have a NSD – bought lunch and snacks with me so no need to buy anything
• Do any surveys in my mailbox
• Look for MS jobs
• Meals from stores
• Checked my online banking – no change
• At lunchtime, see how my auctions are doing
• Check Quidco
• Use my inhaler and take medicine to help with breathing/reduce coughing!
• Charging phone at work
• Breakfast at work (using their milk)
• Think positive today
• Read newspaper online
• Read the freebie paper on the train
• Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
• Enter comps online
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds and vits to control hormones
• Update food diary (online and paper copy)
• Check mobile useage
• Phone pre-pay cc as money seems to have disappeared from it – only £5 but still???
Will see what happens....
Take care everyone

Good morning all!
Greetings from freeezing cold Nairobi. Im here on a short consultancy gig, heading back to KLA on Friday or Saturday. I've taken a week of leave from work and hopefully will get 4 days of consultant pay in. Also very cheap as I am staying with a friend and cooking in instead of eating out! Trying not to spend all the spare cash in my head and be sensible with where it should go
I will probably put it towards buying a motorbike once I pass my test, may be asking Josie for advice soon!
Had a really lovely weekend away with both my roommates in crater lakes in the west of Uganda - a bit of a equatorial lake district. Really beautiful and very inexpensive between buses, hostels and camping. Great and MSE way to spend my birthday.
Candy thanks for starting us and I hope you feel better!
Today:
- breakfast at house
- lunch on expenses
- work hard so they ask me back to do more work in September
- make tea for my hosts - shakshuka, yum!

- check banking and update budget

Happy tuesday my lovelies!
I managed to mess up the alarm again this morning! Was determined to get up on time and get my butt in gear, instead I set my alarm at the same time it was set for Sunday!! Silly girl. Ah well, I wasn't too late and brought brekkie with me instead.
Back at work today and determined to remain positive and cheerful. I'm off out to see Tess Gerritsen at our library tonight talk about her new book which is very exciting! So I'll work a bit later anyway.
So, my list for the day:
-bus to work using bus pass
-bus home (or if OH drives in I'll not have too!)
-lunch, brekkie and snacks either bought in or from the magic bottom drawer
-drinks from kitchen
-LSD - bought milk this morning and off out at lunch, but not planning on spending much (possibly a coffee)
-list 1 thing on ebay (still need to do shoes and dress mentioned yesterday, though shoes are all written up ready to go)
-check bank and make sure budget is up to date for payday tomorrow
-dinner from stores
-trying to find things to do in a couple of weeks with OH. we have a week off and are setting ourselves a budget for the week, and trying to think of things that are free (or v cheap) and fun to do!
I can't think of much else today.
Have a great day gang xxxClicking, searching and surveying my way to a life of debt freedom!
