Hi Techies,
I have an HP Pavillion 7919 which had 128mb RAM until my OH bought me 512 for Xmas (bless:rolleyes: ). The difference it has made is enourmous!
My question is this: crucial.com recommends a max of 512 for my model but I now have my old 128 stick sitting in the cupboard in perfect working order - does anyone know if by adding the 128 to the 512 it would harm my pc or enhance it?
Thanks in advance

Hi
I don't know the answer, but there's a webpage which says how to calculate memory for all HP computers here :-http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph03886&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&rule=42&product=58093&dlc=enNever interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Is crucial the place to get the best deal?0

generally not the cheapest, but fairly competative and give good advice on what ram you specifially need. For the extra couple of £'s its worth it.MickKnipfler wrote:Is crucial the place to get the best deal?0 -
Hi Retsbed,
From looking at the Crucial website, your PC can only take 512MB RAM maximum, consisting of two 256 MB SIMMS. I assume your OH bought two 256 SIMMS for it.
Your pc only has two memory slots so you won't be able to plug in old 128MB SIMM.
Hope that answers your question.

Hi Tufty2k,
Unfortunately my OH bought one 512 stick - I have fitted it and there are no issues - hence me wondering if i should use the vacant slot to fit the 1280 -
try it, see what happens..... although i take no responsibility for loss/ damage to your pc

If there's a free slot, try it. Worst it'll do is make it unbootable while it's plugged in.
Everything I can find though is that only two 256MB with a 512MB maximum is supported.0 -
Just out of interest retsbed, which version of Windows does it use?Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0
