Hi
I was alerted to some viruses on my pc this morning but cannot 'heal' them. There are a number flagged in the test result - Trojan horse downloader generic 3 cwd, and the other type is java /ByteVerify. However, it is not giving me the option to heal these viruses.
The description I get is this
'Selected object is located inside the archive and cannot be healed'
I really do not know what to do so any help would be appreciated. I have seen other threads about using hijack this but I just don't know where to start. I am using AVG free edition.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

It is possible they are in System Restore, turn off Sytem restore then scan again , that MAY work. Turn System Restore back on when finished.0

Hi
Thanks for this but, as you can probably tell, I have no real knowledge about computers so I am not sure how to do this. Could you please tell me.
Thanks a lot.0 -
Right click on 'my computer', go down to 'properties', then click on 'system restore'.
Check the box that says 'turn off system restore', 'apply' > 'ok'.
Same way to turn it back on.0 -

Hi Diablo
Thanks, tried this and scanned computer- no viruses found.
So is that all I need to worry about for now - until the next time a virus shows up on the scanner?
OH and one more thing - was I meant to rescan in 'safe mode'? I've seen some other posts mentioning safe mode but don't know what that means either!
Thank you for your help.
