Lowell Financial - advice please??

I have just received 2 letters from Lowell financial to an address that I moved out off 3 months ago and only lived in for two months. It's my friends house which is why I got the letters.
The first letter states:
Credit agreement date: 1/6/05 with creation finance - never heard of them! That I owe them £761.16
The second states:
Credit agreement date: 14/3/03 with abbey national plc - I have never banked with abbey!! That I owe them £1024.23
First question: why have I never heard of these debts before?
Second question: what do I do?
Any serious advice is muchly appreciated!
I may also like to mention that I have no debts with anyone. I owe about £65 on my credit card, but that is it!!
Help!!!?

Do a search on the site for the "prove it letter" and send that.
They are just chancing it atm.Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
Here you go, just ammend to suit and get back to us if these idiots try it on again......;)
Dear Sir/Madam
Ref: xxxxxxxxxxx
You have contacted us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by ourselves.
We would point out that we have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to The Loan Company.
We are familiar with the ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ which states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question.
We would also point out that the OFT say under the Guidance that it is unfair to pursue third parties for payment when they are not liable. In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods.
Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment.
We would ask that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence as to our liability for the debt in question.
We await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed. Otherwise we will have no option but to make a complaint to the trading standards department and consider informing the OFT of your actions.
We look forward to your reply.
Yours faithfullyHappiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
Should I give them my new address? I've been on the electoral register everywhere I have went, so I dont understand why I have received nothing in the past!0

If you don't owe the money, I don't see why not.Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0

Giving them your new address isn't going to make much difference, especially if you don't owe either of these debts.
Do you suspect fraud?0 -
i would never give lowell my new address ... i moved into my property two weeks ago and the only company who has my new address is barclays .. yet still yesterday got a letter from lowell for a debt i do not owe.. i find the best thing to do is ignore them

Why wouldn't you give them your new address? I assume you're hiding from them?
If you don't owe a debt then there's no reason to be cagey. For the sake of sending them packing it's well worth it.0 -
