Buyer backing out of car sale help?

Could you not accept the £400 less on the basis it will be paid within 6 months?
Get it all in writing, signed and witnessed so you have hard evidence if it came to a dispute and went to court..
I know it adds alot of risk and possible unnecessary hassle but atleast this way you don't have to wait another 4 weeks to re-sell it and potentially reduce its value when as another member said the new reg comes out...0 -
Bite the bullet, tell them you like them so meet them halfway, and drop the price by £200 - it will mean the car is off your hands (depreciating and waiting for the next round of price drops as it ages), and the nice couple have a car and can take you for coffee or whatever to say thanks. Look at it this way, a dealer would probably be offering you a grand less, so you're still £800 up...! Personally I'd seriously consider that as life is better without stress.0
