Load Bearing Wall, Advice

Hello,

Im really in need of advice about a load bearing wall I had removed 3 years ago.

It was done by a family friend who is a builder. He put in a steel RSJ(?)

Recently I have found out that you need building control regs(?) for such work, at the time he didnt mention any of this.

Also with that discovery I also have seen that you should get a structural engineer to do the load calculations. I dont think any of this was done.

I really would like to know what my next steps should be, any advice would be really appreciated.

If it has not fallen down by now, then you have nothing to worry about.

No action can be taken against you by the council as its too late now

You don't need a structural engineer if the steel beam is a standard size and a "normal" loading situation

Your next steps should be to not worry about it
