I am currently in the process of getting a divorce after splitting with my partner husband 3 months ago, I am in full time employment earning 12000 per year before tax and have got a Mortgage, my daughter left college in June this Year and I was getting Tax Credits of around £104 Per Week for her, I have a letter saying my Tax Credits will be going down to £6 per week in 4 weeks time, my daughter has registered with Connections to try and help her get a job with the qualifications she has gained at college or another job till something suitable comes up. She does not turn 18 till the end of August so cant claim Job Seekers Allowance to help with the food and heating/electric bills etc and the other costs like clothing etc. I am not aware if there is anything else I am entitled to to help as I may be forced now to sell the house as will really struggle financially with the drop of nearly £370 per month.
Kind regards to anyone who can offer advice.

There is nothing else you can claim, apart from the tax credits you already get. Is that working tax credits? Have you updated them that you are now single?
If you have a mortgage you wont get any help to pay that as you are working0 -
When your daughter reaches 18 she'll either be earning or claiming JSA, enabling her to contribute to the household. Alternatively, she may decide to go back to college and improve her qualifications.0

Thanks for the above information, I have been told that if my daughter goes on a foundation learning programme then my tax credits wont really be affected is this true ? I'm just worried that in this current climate with the lack of jobs in our area this could be ideal for her and also help me, she has already applied for loads of jobs since june and not even had an interview or many replies, shes applying for at least 3 a day.0
