Paying Uncrossed Postal Order into Bank Account..?

Hi all,
Wonder if you could help me out:
I think i am safe in saying that you can pay uncrossed postal orders into a Bank, yes?
Asssuming that's right - I have a Postal Order that I want in my bank account, it's uncrossed, so on the 'Pay' line there are 3 asterix ***. Do you think if I fill my own name in next to the asterix, then it is/would look sort of 'tampered with'?
I will be sending it into my bank by post and so will need to put my detail on the reverse - would you just do this and leave my name off the 'Pay' Line?
I can imagine this dragging out for ages if it gets sent back to me... any advice.
I really want the money in my bank rather than as cash... so... what would you do?

You can pay in uncrossed POs, I often fill in the space next to the three *** if the buyer has left it blank and have never any issues with Lloyds. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Thanks a lot Ludo for your reply - in that case, I'll go ahead and fill it in. Cheers!0

Uncrossed means you can take it to the Post Office and they will cash it for you if that's a better option. It's only the crossed ones that have to be paid into a bank account.0
