They haven't provided a break down but they have said that the costs are:
    cancellation fee,
    storage fee,
    loss of sale
    re-advertising
    preperation
    administration
    sale persons commission

    totalling £763.47

I know for a fact that the car stayed on Auto Trader, their forecourt and on their website

Ask them to prove it by showing invoices for these items.

Storage / Loss of Sale / sales person commission are all bs costs since they have actually not lost anything here. They can still sell the item / recoup overpaid bonuses and would have to store the car anyway.

Re-advertising / admin sound somewhat legitimate. I would suggest £100 at best as I did in your other thread. Cancellation fee is just made up.

They would not get half of them costs to stand up in court.

I have a feeling that any District Judge will see these charges for what they really are and award nothing to them and order them to repay the OP's whole deposit, plus costs

i would be rather upset if i was as they havnt had the opportunity to put their side of the story

Why don't you give them a call and ask them to contribute, to put their side of the story; that will be interesting.

My thoughts entirely, they'd be lucky to get their £100 of genuine costs for being a bunch of chancers!
    Thinking critically since 1996....

I have written to them and they replied with the list of things they had paid out for. I have tried calling them and speaking to management, but they 'only pop in every now and again' and the salesmen are a bunch of nasty, condesending and rude people.

If I could have done this by speaking to them in the first place I would, as it would have been a hell of a lot easier!
