I have to add that I would be upset, but even when I am very upset like at my parents funerals, I cant cry in front of people. (in case people think I'm Cruella De Ville here! ).0

I understand that mardatha - I know people who went to my grandads funeral just to see me break down when I did the prayers - but I was calm and unemotional throughout, yet with the animals I break down every time
Well we have just finished closing the garden for winter, have cleared the area for the kids new wooden wendy house (Joint Christmas present between us and my parents) so it can just go straight in on Christmas eve. Am excited as we have plans to install some sensory stuff for DS and put a heater out there so they will be able to use all year round.
Smiley- nothing I can say except to send more hugs and offer a coffee and banana and choc muffin or perhaps an apple or cinnamon one.
Found a brill recipe here for muffins yesterday so have made a few batches which are going down well!0 -

Hiya Smileyt  sending hugs - I know you will miss your girls but you did the right thing and they have had a fab time living with you, a life of luxury - What more could 2 chooks want x
Its very windy here but warm too, expecting to find sand blowing round any minute. Just been to stock up on rabbit food and yes, its gone up again, but still much cheaper than the supermarket. Think the cats will have to go on rations soon - have you seen the price of cat food:eek: the trouble is TopCat is very old and set in his ways so will only eat a certain type. The spare cat however will wolf all before him.
Made custard with powdered milk the other day as we has very little fresh - it worked really well and kept in the fridge for the next day too, usually it turns into a congealed lump. I worked out 4 portions of apple crumble and custard cost about 30p in total with whoopsied bogoff apples!
Got my mum stocking up for winter again and she is really proud of herself. She only has a tiny freezer but for bad days she can live on soup, corned beef, tinned fish and some pasta packs that she discovered. Also picking her up some long life milk save her carrying any heavy stuff.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

(((smileyt))) - logged on just now to see if there was 'news' from you. You're such a good pet owner to face up to this and do what your little hens needed.
Thanks for the cheese advice but I've already been - I went to MrT, loaded my basket with 6 cheese(s?) on the buy one get 2 free offer only to get a bigger bill at the till. Luckily for me they still had that offer big sign at the end of the aisle so I got them for that price. The sign was quickly taken down! The Te$co red coffee jars are a good deal just now, the bigger ones anyway. DH likes Ne$cafe dark (ordinary not the freeze dried) and he says he can't tell the difference between these so it's a good deal for us. Think less that £2 for 400g - maybe even less than £1.50? Bought it last week anyway so receipt has gone.
Still eating our way through the veggie box but I don't think I'll get another one for a while. The massive parsnip is still looking at me (DH doesn't like and I can't even disguise it in soup as he can tell) so will go to DD this afternoon. Still loads of kale to eat (now don't beat a path to my door mardatha) but that will go in more soup and also stir-fry. Loads of potatoes left but they are so delicious.
Haven't got round to doing that laundry load I was planning earlier. Might do it now.
