Had a great deal yesterday- nipped into local Costcutter for half price Cadburys ice cream bars and noticed Anchor butter that should have been £1.65 reduced to 50 pence as it has reached its sell buy date!!!

Six packs are now in the garage freezer :j - I left plenty of the butter for others so don't feel too selfish. Worried as the freezer light keeps flashing on and off so need to look up online AEG manual later.

No ideas what to make for tea but might use up tortillas and stuff them with veg, make a cauli cheese to use up fridge contents and maybe a salad. Still sorting through a huge filing cabinet which has taken days but on last drawer!!! Yippee - or it was till DH says he has a huge book of info he is using that may need to be filed

Will need to "negotiate" what info he needs to hand and what can be filed so I can find things. We both need to know where to look for info.

For those of you worrying about or spending time on pollinating tomatoes, don't bother yourself - tomatoes are self-pollinating and have almost always pollinated themselves before the flowers are even open. Clever old thing, Mother Nature ;)

Not been on for a while as things are pretty hectic here. My little boy has severe reflux as I've mentioned before and at the moment every feed is agony. It breaks my heart to see him in such pain especially as only a week ago he was drinking 7oz and now I'm lucky if he has 2oz per feed. We have been in and out of the doctors/hospital and have now got four lots of medication to give him. We have to give it three weeks to see if it works and then back to the doctors.

On an OS note I was very pleased with my shopping today. Got my list ready and all my coupons. Kept to the list and with the coupons got my shopping down from £89.87 to £43.32. :j So over half of my shopping was bought with coupons. This was the first shop I'd done in three weeks so we were really low on all staples. However, on our 'baby milk' account I had to spend £33 as we were low.

Not really done much apart from clear up baby sick, sterilise bottles, try and feed baby and entertain 4 year old. House is a tip but have to live with it for now.

Hubby and I were talking about taking a short break with the children but we have left it pretty late. We need somewhere cheap and cheerful that is obviously baby friendly - he'll only be 10 weeks old when we go. Any ideas?

We took DD and Ds to the lakes when DD was a few weeks old, but we had a cottage. As its the school holidays prices are high though.

Thankfully my friend loved her brownies and the book. We are off on holiday tomorrow so need to getting packing. Also need to finish leafleting the street for a community event I am involved with (the day after we get back!)

I'll have to add that DVD to my Lovefilm list Reverbe.

Hi all...how are you all on this lovely sunny day...
Had a great day..went to see my eldest dd..bless her, think my OS ways are rubbing off yay..she went to a carboot sale on sunday and got lots of old blankets for a song,a double quilt and pillowcases for a £1,,they are really thick and will be ideal for the winter..she gave them to me..i was shocked coz i thought they were for her..no..little devil was pulling my leg..she virtually cleared the ladys stall..bought all her bedding,blankets,curtains..for £15...and she split it between me ,her and her sisters,,isn't that just sweet..had to lug them home though ,on what turns out to be a boiling hot day,me pushing the bike trailer loaded with blankets and duvet covers,2 tots, all their bits and bobs too..was red-faced and sweaty when i got home..had to have a shower to cool off...
Got home to find hubby and son had been to the lotties and harvested, cabbages, broad beans, carrots, chinese cabbage, courgettes, spring onions..o and beetroot..so got that to sort out too...
Just a quickie really..will catch up with you all later..
hugs to kidcat hun..dentists scare the living beegees out of me..ask for entinox..gas and air..calms you down..it helps honestly..providing your dentist does it..good luck

Jedi teacher an sending hugs and hoping your little man grows out of his reflux soon. Im sure someone here will come up with a great break for you all, sounds like you need it!

Had a quiet day today, catching up before DGS comes for the night,Mr M keeps changing DD's shifts as there is no overtime and so holiday cover needs to be spread thin. Don't think they are prospering at that particular branch - it seems a very unhappy ship :o

One of our last 2 rescue rabbits died today :(- but he had a nice run in the sun on Tuesday so he was happy. Luckily DS called round and dug the hole for me as I just couldn't physically do it. So now we only have the mini boy left who is a soft as anything and will no doubt be spoiled. Its strange as we have been over run by rescues for about 20 years but now we decided no more, bloomin typical I bought a huge sack of feed yesterday - it will last mini rabbit for years!

I've just seen today that our Julian Graves is closing down and being replaced by Holland & Barrett. Is this happening elsewhere, or is it a one-off? I've found JG to be cheaper than H&B :(

Greyqueen - see http://www.k-clements.fsnet.co.uk/dehydrator.html for a homemade dehydrator.

All my plans for filling my new freezer have come to a halt - delivery was supposed to be Saturday but now will be next Saturday. Any blackberries I pick will have to be dehydrated instead of frozen - should still be fine though, it's just a bit more faffy than freezing. But did see a link from Grandma247 and found out how to make blackberry leather - now that looked really good - thanks GM247

I have successfully managed to identify a fungus I found this morning as chicken-of-the-woods. It was 8 feet up a tree so couldn't get at it but will be returning with a walking stick tomorrow. I haven't been able to identify the tree it is on - can anyone recommend a good tree book - I've got Food for Free but would like a plant/tree identification reference book too.

Have been doing a bit of kitchen revamping and managed to catch my leg with a hammer :( Unfortunately it was my dodgy leg - the skin on part of my ankle is very fragile thanks to an old operation and I now have a sore, raw bit of leg. Luckily I know the drill with this type of lesion and know that it will heal eventually but that it takes a long time. Ho, hum.

Used a voucher at Mr T and got 2 whoopsied chickens - good ones - for less than half price. Pity I didn't have the new freezer as there were loads of them - some serious overstocking there.

Time for tea - "fridge surprise" tonight :rotfl:

    See you later
