Washing machine weekly load update
I have asked this question to Zanussi and Indesit
Can you give me some advice please as to average daily/weekly load for your washing machines.
Is there a better one for a family with children rather than a single person?
Do you have a recommended number of weekly washes for each machine?
Thank you very much.
Zanussi will email me back at some point.
Indesit want me to pay a returnable deposit if I am not fully satisfied with the answer they give, and won't let me go any further without entering my card details :mad::eek::mad::eek::mad:

Life expectancy of a machine is quoted in several places at about 11-14 years at an average 400 loads per year, ie about 8 loads per week. I'm sure manufacturers realise machines get used that often and build them accordingly.
Hmmm....well as a singlie I've just done the maths and come up with:
2 washes per week x 11 years = 44 years it should last then
Okays - who wants me to leave them a Bosch washing machine in my will then?:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Shopping trip to town today and all I can say is EEEEKKK!
Being a fan of Sainsburys Basics - I was gobsmacked to find how much some of their Basic stuff has changed - boxes of tissues have gone from 35p to 50p, the loo roll have shot up fro £1.37 to £2 and the bottles of shower gel have gone from 10p to 30p!
Made a special detour to Sainsburys o to get the special offer on packs of 12 cans of Butchers dog food for £5 - but sadly it was all gone - I was a bit annoyed as there was only a small space of the shelf so its would seem that they have not intention of selling a lot at that price!
On the plus side - Butchers Choice Sausages are half price - 99p for 8 thick and tasty linksand pack of beek/chicken/vegetable stock cubes are 10p so not all was lost

I loved my Bosch washing machine, sadly 2 months ago the motor went, and my repairman said I would love to fix it for you, but it wouldnt be worth your while:(
I couldnt afford another Bosch, but i needed a machine as I do at least 3 loads a day, so I bought a Samsung one, its great, it cost £200, and it has a 2 year warrenty!!!!!
I have now started saving for a Bosch when the samsung gives up the ghost!!:jIm going to be frugal:j:DIm going to be frugal:D;)Im going to be frugal;)Beetlejuice Beetlejuice...................:rotfl:0 -

Good afternoon campers.
Ceridwen, I was up in the wee smalls and posting on another thread, then crawled back to my pit for a lie-in thinking Dark Thoughts about the old ailment IYSWIM. Feeling very very tired today but kept offline whilst doing a few bits and bobs.I have been shopping. I know, and in a proper shop not a c.s. either, don't know what came over me. Oh yes, it was the sale at the mega camping place where I have a discount card...oooooh yes. Only bought 2 fleeces which was shedloads less than I was tempted by, let me tell you.:rotfl:Overhauling my outdoorsy stuff ahead of camping next month, a mixture of using what I have, some c.s. bits and a few new bits on sale. My new sleeping bag was £20 and replaces one I bought in 1984 which is still in decent condition but seems to have lost it's "loft" and I wouldn't regard it as a 3-season bag anymore. Still, mustn't grumble, doesn't owe me anything and there are adults loose who're younger than my mummy-bag! I shall freecycle it so it can do someone else a turn.
Going to spend the rest of the day puddling around the city centre (there are charity shops out there, you know) as feel like something the cat dragged in and virtually asleep on my feet and not up to gardening.
Still, I have finally got around to painting the bathroom skirting board which I took off the bath-panel so that the plumber could get under the tub (there was less storage space under there than I remembered, so scratch that plan). That's been lying in the living room awaiting another coat of paint since 2nd......:o Tell ya, if procrastination was an Olympic sport, I'd be a contender.
The day is improving by the minute and the rain has stopped but the humidity is astonishing, it's been like walking around in a sauna. And I'm on the drier side of the Pennines. Oh darn, spoke to soon, here comes the rain again...grrr!
Righty, gonna have a cuppa and pootle on the net and turf out a bag of stuff to the c.s. to make room for the new purchases. Either that or I shall have to let a gusset into the walls so that I can expand the flat sideways......I'd give a right arm for a spare room, or even a spare cupboard. Not my own right arm, of course.;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hmmm...expect I know what "old ailment" you mean GreyQueen:cool:
Anyways...my tootling round the net has revealed further thoughts for those who like to try different things to eat:

Reet...time to hie me hence to the kitchen again - bit more experimentation. Yesterday's "must just try to make my own dried banana chips" one didnae work out - 20 mins cooking banana slices in the oven. Hmmm...fortunately edible enough to eat still...but not the dried banana I had in mind...
Next up - I need a drink - so think I'll try out some peppermint tea bags in water and add a bit of apple juice and some mint leaves....hmmmm...should be nice...I theenk....0 -

GreyQueen, I totally sympathise with anybody who has ME, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Lots of more life threatening and dire ailments around I know but somehow that doesn't make this one any easier to live with.0
