Hi All,
I am about to move house and am looking at using Primus to provide my phone line. All I realy want to pay them for is the line activation and rental. Their cheapest package is around £7.00. My question is can I then use a call / internet package from another provider? Primus are vague on this and keep telling me about their great packages.
Greatful for any advice.
Regards
JB

Certainly, you won't be able to use another calls provider (only BT has to allow CPS calls providers on its lines and, surprise surprise, only BT does).
It follows that Primus will not allow other ISPs to be carried on its lines either.
However, at the moment, use of the likes of 1899, 18185 and 18866 - for which Martin received an "until the end of the year" guarantee some time ago (before the takeover by New Call Telecom) - may still be possible for calls. When/if that guarantee will end is anyone's guess.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks for that - much appreciated.
Will re think plans - I'm currently with AOL who are making me a relatively good offer to stay with them but they cant activate / install a line at the new address.
